Vicky Hunter
101Vicky probably should have been a driving instructor. Learning to drive at a very young age, she went on to teach countless friends how to drive a car and ride a motorbike. With only one of her students ever crashing under her guidance.

Her enthusiasm for cars comes from her father and sister who both dabbled in motorsport, and helping/ getting in the way of her brothers tinkering with engines in the farm workshop.

Combining her lust for adventure and fast cars, Vicky's first job in publishing was as photojournalist masquerading as the proof-reader across three outdoor titles, Caravan and Outdoor Life, Leisure Boating and SA4x4. It was while working on SA4x4 that the motoring journalism bug really bit. From there, she moved to GQ magazine which, as luck would have it, launched GQ Cars, a quarterly motoring magazine with a difference.

Vicky was assistant editor on both titles until she went freelance at the beginning of 2008. She's now the motoring writer for GLAMOUR and Conde Nast House & Garden magazines. Despite her great love for cars, fast and slow, new and old, she does grapple with the green issue...

Rainbow mini
Oooh! Take a look at the new paintwork that MINI's bringing out!

I can see a rainbow!
Okay, I'll admit it (that's if you hadn't already worked out): I am a huge MINI fan! My own car is a 2007 MINI Cooper and I just love it. I bought it second-hand, low mileage and in amazing condition.

Because I got a second-hand one, I couldn't really choose the colour; I wanted a creme one with a black roof. But now that I've got a dark metallic blue, I think I prefer it. Although I know, being the slightly left of conservative person that I am, that had I been given the option, I would have thought long and hard about whether or not to get the Rainbow-coloured MINI!

It's not available here but I will let you know as soon as I do, if and when it will be. But for now, we can gaze at the Rainbow range - Sunlight Metallic, Asteroid Metallic and Nightlife Metallic - and ponder over whether one would get tired of the bling. And, importantly, whether selling a Rainbow-coloured MINI might prove to be a bit tricky...

Here are the pics - you decide!
