Now MINI can ramp pavements, too! The MINI Countryman
is the biggest MINI so far, and the first to have permanent all-wheel drive. It's a little sporty, a little butch, has four doors, four seats (a rear bench instead, is an option) and higher ground clearance.
In keeping with MINI safety, the Countryman has traction and stability control and a cloud of airbags should you need them. Petrol and diesel engines will be available (hopefully we'll get the diesel here if the government sorts out the quality issue) - all with stop/start and brake energy regeneration.
Incidentally, the Countryman will share chassis and components with the BMW X1 (for those who didn't know, BMW owns MINI).
As usual, the list of options is mind-boggling and up-to-the-minute with technology and fancy gadgets.
We're not sure when (if) the Countryman will be gracing our roads - but rest assured, I'm keeping a very keen eye on the situation! In the mean time, enjoy the photographs...
